Four Key Tips for Using Gear Reducers
2022-01
Four key tips for using gear reducers:
1. During operation, if you notice any of the following conditions—such as an oil temperature rise exceeding 80℃, an oil-pool temperature exceeding 100℃, or abnormal noises—you should immediately stop using the equipment, investigate the cause, eliminate the fault, and only resume operation after replacing the lubricating oil.
2. When changing the oil, wait until the gearbox has cooled down and there is no risk of combustion. However, it should still be warm, as once completely cooled, the oil becomes highly viscous and difficult to drain. Note: Be sure to disconnect the power supply to the transmission device to prevent accidental energization.
3. After operating for 200 to 300 hours, the oil should be changed. During subsequent use, the oil quality should be checked regularly, and any oil contaminated with impurities or that has deteriorated must be replaced promptly. In general, for gearboxes that operate continuously over a long period, the oil should be replaced every 5,000 operating hours or once a year. For gearboxes that have been idle for an extended period, the oil should also be replaced before restarting operation. The gearbox should be filled with oil of the same grade as the original oil; mixing oils of different grades is strictly prohibited. However, oils of the same grade but with different viscosities may be mixed.
4. Users shall establish and adhere to reasonable rules and regulations for the use and maintenance of gear reducers. They must meticulously record the operating conditions of the reducer as well as any issues identified during inspections. The above-mentioned provisions shall be strictly enforced.
